CHIPS Center
You can help families who need the CHIPS Center today by making a one-time donation, creating a fundraising page, or starting a team. Your support of the CHIPS Center at Children’s of Alabama allows us to provide specialized services and counseling for children who have experienced child abuse.
At CHIPS, we are fortunate to have a team of specially trained clinical counselors, doctors, social workers, and nurses who work with other agencies to provide the best possible care for children and families impacted by physical and/or sexual abuse. Once child abuse has been reported, the child may experience a long and difficult process to recovery. The CHIPS staff works with law enforcement, the Department of Human Resources (DHR), and child advocacy center (CAC) representatives to provide the best possible care for children and families who have experienced abuse. Child abuse affects the entire family, so social workers and counselors work with the child and the caregivers to provide counseling and create a plan to maneuver the road ahead.
